ERIKA JOHNSON, MOUNT-MAKER

We are unable to display Erika's portfolio demonstrating 8 years of mount work at this time. If you provide us with an email address, we can privately send her resume. Our apologies for the inconvenience.

In the meantime, we hope that the work she did at the Arcadian Clock Co. can appropriately demonstrate her design and metalworking skills.

This 2/3 second pendulum adjusts for temperature differences through Garnier's "dumbbell" system of bimetallic compensation. As the central steel rod expands with an increase in temperature, the brass side rods extend further, raising the pivoted compensation weights. The weights can be moved to adjust the compensation. The solid brass beat scale is a separate element, engraved on the pendulum circumference.

This suspension detail highlights .001" machining accuracy and hand-lapped finishes. The whimsical keyhole opening for the verge is a functional flourish for an otherwise serious clock.
